The 2019 IIA International Conference is now a wrap. Over 2,300 people attended from around the world. Doug was co-chair of programming – seven tracks, five keynote speakers.
We heard Richard Dreyfuss channeling Bernie Madoff and discussing civics, Jade Simmons offering a virtuoso case for diversity, and Mike Walsh offer a visionary glimpse of our technological future.
It was gratifying to be a part of such a productive exercise that supported the Internal Audit profession worldwide.

Doug co-presented a workshop on Ethics at the IIA’s International Conference in July 2019. The interactive, hands-on workshop was tailored to the needs of auditors. Attendees learned the difference between ethics and fraud, ways to evaluate the ethics of their organizations, and the challenges of dealing with ethics issues in a global organization. The workshop fulfilled CPE requirements for those holding credentials from the IIA, as well as for many CPAs. This was the first Ethics workshop at an international IIA conference.
